In November, the endangered North Pacific mammals, the Humpback Whale begin a two-month swim from Alaskan feeding grounds to the Hawaiian waters. Why? For the same reason you're coming here - the weather! Between December 15th and May 5th, these gigantic creatures are seen in Hawaiian waters. Guest have reported seeing them from the lanai Of Hale O Moana Kai.
Don't let the calls of the playful dolphins keep you from an afternoon nap, as they play in the waters below Hale O Moanai Kai! Kahena is the #1 spot for dolphin encounters on the Big Island. Turtles and fish can also be seen from the lanai.
