This tropical home features open-beamed ceilings and panoramic tropical and ocean views. You can see the lights from a passing cruise ship at night from the lanai! There's a full kitchen, generous living and dining area opening onto the lanai, a queen-bed bedroom and bath. For extra guests, the second bedroom has two double beds. And for your evenings, there's a Satellite TV/VCR, a nice stereo with CD and tape players, an assortment of video and audio tapes and CD's, and for those who would rather curl up with a book, there are lots to choose from.
Outside in a gazebo near the house is a full-featured spa for your relaxation and enjoyment!
The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, blender, coffee maker, range, fridge and all cooking and dining needs. This home is thoughtfully and tastefully appointed to make it feel like your very own home-in-Paradise.
Located in a quiet, ocean-front, gated community with easy accessibility to Kapoho Bay and the ocean itself, there are several calm lagoons for swimming and snorkeling. Some of the lagoons are even heated by geothermal fresh-water springs! A guide-map at the house will direct you to all the best spots. Champagne Pond is a 15 minute walk from the property.

Kapoho is a beautiful place—a peaceful and quiet place that’s perfect for those who want no part of “tourist Hawaii.” We try our best to make it very clear that there are few tourist accommodations near here. We have many beautiful swimming spots on or near the ocean, a couple of sandy beaches near Hilo and a beautiful scenic drive to the other side of the island will let you discover even more of the lovely beaches on our island.
We chose Pualani in Kapoho as our vacation home for the very reason that there is very little tourist traffic here and that this is one of the last places on the islands that is still considered “real Hawaii.”
If you have already experienced “tourist Hawaii” and are ready for something different, you might like this. If you would like to feel what it would be like to be here among the folks who live here, work here, play here and raise their families here, you will find this area a true adventure. If you like hiking, snorkeling, exploring, and are looking for a real tropical get-a-way, you’ll love it.
This is rustic, rural Hawaii at its best. You can experience the most beautiful, unspoiled tropical surroundings imaginable. Languish in the naturally heated warm pond five minutes away, snorkel in our crystal clear tide pools or take a breathtaking ride down the Rd Road to beautiful Kehena Beach (clothing optional) 20 minutes away. No matter what your choices are, you will be richly rewarded with taste after taste of our roads less traveled.
Pahoa, our nearest town about 8 miles away, is a funky little village of colorful people doing their thing. There are fun little shops to visit and we have some of the best offerings of restaurants on this side of the island. You will find superbly prepared Thai, Italian Tuscany style, Bueno Mexican food to name a few with funky décor, casual ambiance and a delightful surprise of wonderful cuisine. The new Malama Market at the north end of town in the new shopping center has everything you might need! The Pahoa Olympic size swimming pool is free to the public!
There is a Sunday Pahoa Farmer’s Market where you can find just about every kind of local veggie and fruit, and many prepared offerings…and if you’re in the mood, indulge in an open air massage. Every Saturday and Sunday, just north of Pahoa you will find the Maku’u Farmer’s Market which is bigger than the Pahoa Market where you will find arts, crafts, jewelry, plants, surfboards, locally hand-made items, and of course lots of locally grown fruits, vegetables, and food and drink prepared right there for you!
If you would like to venture out and explore even more of the Big Island, indulge in some trips to Volcanoes National Park, Lava Tree State Park, Waipio Valley, Hilo Town, or even a beautiful 2 ½ hour drive to Kona on the other side of the island.
We welcome you to our area of real Paradise!
