For a few days you will probably want to put in some serious hammock time, harvest fresh fruit from our trees and in general, "take it easy".

We have a well stocked library of Hawaiiana if you would like to get more in tune with the islands.

The optional clothing black sand beach is a five minute stroll from the house. Just walk down to the "Red Road", take a left and the trail to the beach is about 100 yards to your right.

There is excellent snorkeling off the Point and it is not unusual to see Sea Turtles close to shore.

Try a soak in the Hot Pond which is 8 miles down the "Red Road" towards Kopoho, visit the Lava Tree State Park or climb into a nearby lava steam vent. for an exhilarating experience. There is excellent, easy snorkeling at the sheltered Kapoho tide pools..

Visit the Hawaii Volcano National Park - If you are lucky, lava may be flowing into the ocean!

The Farmers Market in Hilo on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 7 AM to 2 PM is a good place to soak up some local color as well as an excellent opportunity to purchase fresh flowers, vegetables, fruits and numerous home made goodies.

Akaka Falls is a must see North of Hilo, as is the Hawaii Botanical Garden on the 4-Mile scenic drive.

Don't forget biking, hiking and a nearby resort with yoga classes and hula.

Rates

Hale Kipuka rates:

$150 per night (4 night minimum),
$900 per week,
$1,700 for 2 weeks,
$2,300 for 3 weeks,
$2,800 for 4 weeks.

All rates are for double occupancy.
Additional guest are $15 per person per day or $90 per week.

There is a $75 cleaning fee on rentals of one week or less.

These rates do not include the Hawaiian bed tax or general excise tax.
