If it’s a bit of seclusion you want, in a friendly and luxurious environment, with a freshwater pool, unobstructed views of both the Caribbean and the barrier reef just offshore, on-site access to world-class diving and snorkeling, and easy access as well to all the other adventures Belize offers -- well then, please stay a while and let us tell you more.
The things you’ll want to know:
We are the closest resort to San Pedro, just north of town, a fun and picturesque 15-minute boat ride or interesting bike ride away. Walk the two miles to town? Some hardy guests do, then boat back, with packages. We welcome singles, couples, families, groups of friends, children of all ages, anniversary celebrants and honeymooners -- we host many. Take a look, by clicking below, at what some of our past guests have said about their time with us.
You can beach-walk in minutes to some of the best restaurants on the island, all of them also on the beach. Or you can order groceries or pizza in, delivered to your suite, just like at home. Or you can have your refrigerator stocked with foods of your choice before you arrive. A fun, caring and very experienced resident management team, ex-patriate Americans, specialize in eliminating guest hassle. We will book your connecting flight from Belize City to San Pedro; will meet your plane and escort you to our dock at our cost, with perhaps a supermarket stop along the way. We’ll be there at dockside to greet you and help you to your suite, then will join you in planning all the things to do you’ve heard about and which brought you to our island. Guides for all tours pick up our guests right at our dock, and return them there as well.
Finally, if you elect to join us, before you depart for your vacation in Belize, we’ll provide you with unparalleled email and phone support, giving you information on Ambergris Caye, excursion opportunities and dining recommendations, and answering your questions whenever they occur to you -- an interaction we are told is unique on the island.
As uncommon as Ambergris Caye is, I believe you'll find that we are an equally uncommon place to stay while you're on the island. Because we are the closest resort to town, the "action" -- for those who want it -- is always just a 15-minute, $5 boat ride or longer bike ride away. Yet you'll enjoy the seclusion and intimacy of a resort that fully respects your privacy. We are right smack on the beach, with the Caribbean just a few feet from your front door, as well as several excellent restaurants and "watering holes" just a beach-walk away. We have a lovely pool with a surround-deck and comfortable beach chairs to relax in under the palms, a beachfront palapa bar, satellite TV with 60 channels, a beachfront volleyball court, an on-site spa w/diverse services, an outdoor barbecue, hammocks, palm trees, bicycles and kayaks. |

Ambergris Caye is the name of Belize's largest island, one of the 200 that dot the coastline of Belize. The history of the island goes back to the days of the Maya, European Pirates, and Mexican refugees who fled during the Caste War. Descendants from Mexico make up most of the island's population today. The economy of the island was once dependent on the coconut industry, followed by the fishing industry. It presently depends on tourism.
Ambergris is 25 miles long and a little over a mile wide in some places, and is located in the clear shallow waters of the Caribbean Sea just off the tip of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Her coastline is protected by the 190-mile long Barrier Reef, the second largest living coral reef in the world. In Mayan times, Ambergris Caye itself was a trading post. The Marco Gonzalez ruins at the southern tip of the caye and the Basil Jones site to the north, as well as the many recently excavated "home sites" in the heart of San Pedro Town, provide evidence of a former Mayan population of 10,000. The narrow channel that separates Mexico and Belize was dug by the Mayans to provide a trade route from the bay of Chetumal to the Caribbean.
